A kit normally will not eat much the first week or so about a half dropper if lucky but as time goes on a kit will eat up to 2 droppers in a feeding. Feed kits every 2 hours for the first 2 weeks of their lives then every 3 or 4 hours for the remaining 4 to 6 weeks. Chinchilla babies are called kits. A chinchilla kit can fall ill all too easily from infection passed on by unclean utensils.
