Childminder Or Nursery For Baby. Depends on the age for me. Like a previous post said at nursery there is more then one person there to look after your little one and they have to meet government ratios of 13.
Childminders can only care for six children younger than eight including their own. You will probably find that a childminder is cheaper than a nursery depending on where you are and they can accept any form of financial support you have access to such as child tax credits or childcare vouchers. Hi Im a tad biased here but I work in a nursery and work with little ones aged 3 months to 2 years and Id say go with the nursery.
Childminder charges 4 ph and actually is extremely flexible she is open 7-7.
OK this is unfair many of them have a set-up as slick and well-equipped as a top nursery but theyre still more homely and slightly less shrill. Often at nursery they will have a key worker but if that person is off sick having a day off or placed in another room that day your child may be looked after by someone that they dont feel as comfortable with. Shes now two and does 2 days forest nursery and 2 days childminder. Very young children it has been shown need the presence of an attachment figure in order to feel safe and for healthy emotional and social development.
